 Cut a fresh cube of potassium and put it on a saucer. Then I added some water with a syringe, it instantly catches fire. It's actually very hard to get a decent shot because it melts very quickly and produces a lot of smoke. That is when it does not explode...

Potassium is very dangerous to handle, so don't do it if you're not a chemist. And if you are, use only tiny amounts, otherwise say good bye to your camera ;-)

Appreciated & interesting notes regarding the chemical reaction. Image has a mystery and beauty to it.

Great concept, but I think you're adding a bit too much light. Let the flame do it's thing, and light the opposite side to keep the shape of the subject.

Is this an ice cube? I can't really tell. I wish the flame/explosion would have been more in focus. I can't say I like it but that's just me :)

Not sure on what to say here. It just doesn't quite do it for me and I can't tell you why, except...perhaps, the composition with the other details around it?? I don't know why I'm trying to comment because I can't put it into words but, perhaps, "I don't get it" may come closest rather than, "boring"??? Sorry. Don't mean to be so cruel sounding. I really don't. Just don't know how else to say it and figure that saying nothing is not great either??? Ok, shutting up now. :)
