Thanks for the comments everyone - any thoughts on how you'd light it more "interestingly", though?
I went for direct overhead to avoid shadows, so I guess the idea would be to go for a main (or is the correct term "key") light from one side and some fill from the other to get rid of the shadows. Is that right?
I have an Olympus FL36R, so I really must figure out how to get it off-camera. Anyone with an FZ50 reading and done this?

This feels flat to me, there's nothing exciting about lighting, perspective, angles, nada. |
