Good news and bad news Karen.....
The bad news is this may well have been seen as a shoehorn with the title (as I'm sure many others where).
Good news is I reckon in the right challenge this could well have broken a SIX!
I love it, absolutely brilliant zoneplate shot! |

Pleased this was yours! I do think if I am to continue playing with this stuff, I prefer the zone plate (or at least the way you shoot with a zone plate) to the pinhole. You seem to get just a bit more depth and "focus" (relative, I know) and more pleasing color from it. Or it could be you're just really good. At any rate, this ended up with a rather decent score, methinks. |

I thought this was very pretty. It's like a scene from a dream. Your zone plate stuff is cool! |

Wow, that WAS close, congratulations on a great effort! The movement of colors from one balloon to another is a wonderful effect. |

Pastels, soft-focus, extremely tilted perspective... I missed the 60's but that's about how I picture them. OTOH, it could be an innocent childhood memory of baloons at a birthday party, a bit fuzzy with a touch of gender ambiguity. Ok, I know I try to read too much into a photo, but why else would I be here? Can I just suggest slightly dodging the left side to prevent the background from drawing too much attention. |

There's been a few balloon pictures and they have all been of no interest to me. This one looks better though. The combination of colors and the soft look in addition to the spiral shaped ribbon hanging on the left side makes it a worthwhile entry. |

I could see this on the front of a greetings card. |

Pretty, the soft focus kind of fits this for some reason but, not sure how it will play out in the "technically perfect" voters' minds??? Hope that it is doing well. |

Oooh - like the softness here. Party balloons from the eyes of a very young child. |

you will probably be dinged for for a shoehorn and for the softness of focus...which may be intended. |

Helium, implied. Nice shot, very smooth and soft. |
