I spotted this bird while driving through Karijini National Park to Tom Price. He obligingly sat still while I snapped a few shots and then decided he'd had enough and flew off.

Cropped, curves layer and brightness layer both to brighten the bird, selective colour layer, merge visible, selective colour again, resize, unsharp mask twice, 50% 0.9 and 30% 0.6, saved for web.

Hey mate, congrats on yet another shot above your average! That's 18 shots in a row that are above your average - good trend :)

Great capture. Try bumping the saturation and exposure up a bit.

Great capture and focus and a nice 'blue'. Composition would be my only small concern. I'd like to the 'empty space' more where the head is pointing... the bird in upper left instead of lower right. May not have been possible, though.

sharp shinned hawk? focal pane seems to be just missing the closer wing, and it would have been nice to have the light on the hawk's face, rather than her arse. Still, I know its a tough shot to get.

Nice bird catch... wish he was on the top left of image. That way he would be flying into the picture rather than out of it, if that makes sense.

Would have preferred if the biggest space was in front of where he is looking (having the bird in the upper left rather than the lower left so his gaze was to blue space instead of to the corner of the frame).
