 I guess one of these birds found a a fishing lure in the water and the other bird tried to steal it. At first when I found them they were having a tug-o-war with it on land and they flew out over the water with it. In some of the previous photos it be came appartent that the hook was some how lodged in one of the birds beak and couldn't get it out. The other bird dragged him into flight, in the middle of the lake the both landed and continued to struggle until it became free. At that point neither bird wanted anything to do with the decoy fish and both flew away. Mean time all the other seagulls were watching and waiting to catch a part of the fish or so they thought.

I was shooting in ap mode at 5.6, now I wish I have been shooting at 1/1000 shutter speed to freeze it a little better by bumping up the iso to 200. I think this may do farely well, at least over a 5.5.

Yikes! I hope they are just fighting over that and aren't actually hooked together! Great stopped motion with just a little movement in the wings to still give some motion to the shot
