I don't know about your area, but around here, at these auctions, some people almost feel guilty buying anything. :( I just hate that they have to resort to this at times.

The b&w really adds to the mood of an auction. I always think auctions are sad because it usually means someone has passed away.

I've been to a few of these, very depressing, but a huge social occasion too, seeing all the neighbors and discussing the state of affairs. I think you captured all of that very well here.

That's a hard day when your family dreams come to a close. B&W is good with this subject. It's too bad that this country is losing a lot of these small home farms. Things are "changing". : (

There are no happy faces in this shot. Your photo conveys a helplessness that I'm sure was present.

Hope this isn't a case of have to Anne. I agree entirely with Brandi's [thumb]bs-photos[/thumb] comments. Such a bloody wicked state of affairs. If there was only some way to make these bureaucrats accountable - it may lessen the frequency of these occasions. One can only hope...

Ooh no! That sucks they have to (or just are) auctioning off the farm. It's a shame this is what things are coming too, people just can't keep up with bills, yet the big-wigs of wall st. can screw up royally & still get paid (not to mention, WAY more than they could ever be worth!)!
A great capture of a very sad event.

An incredibly sad and somber event...the hands in pockets, the shoulders rounded, the bleak feeling of loss, it is all too sad
