Courtesy of Edgar Allan Poe, I bring you a modern photographic interpretation of his short story A Tell-Tale Heart.

I am holding a real cow heart (well, half of one anyway). Lighting is a hotlight to my right and natural window-light from behind the camera.

you wanted to prvoke reactions, didn't you? THe face is nicely in focus, the heart seems to be more on the soft side. But then again it's not propared and really is soft tissue.

The heart looks more like a roast. ;) I actually thought about getting a beef heart from the store but thought better of it. LOL This image is not that convincing because the butcherer would have been splattered all over with blood. I suppose if the story was written today, It would be possible he would have used a Santoku knife. ;) Yes Im being picky on the details. Fun image.

I knew someone would have this, a little more light and a little less shadowing would have rung by bell more.

I think that the lighting should be more low-key and the "surgeon" should be looking at the meat instead of the camera. Doesn't feel creepy enough for me. I might even like if the person's hand/knife and face weren't in the pic, so that we only see a shadow of a cleaver and the meat.
