 Hair brush. This is my first Challenge here and i tried to stump the viewers as much as i could by changing the position of the brush, avoiding to show the lower part of it which have a curve that shown easily what the object was.
I improvised some objects to have a good position and light, including a lantern, hehe. And i had my girlfriend's opinion for the idea!
Anyway, i don't expect much because it's my first try here but i'm really excited to be in this curious challenge and i'll be glad to read sugestions.

Not exactly a stumper. Good DOF rescues an otherwise middle-of-the-pack image.

Definitely looks like the tines of a brush lit from the side. The perspective is cool but the lighting has too much of a yellowish hue for my taste. Just commenting for now.

white balance is a little off....unless you were going for the glowing yellow of a close fire

i'm not a fan of your background. if it would be lit, the blurred 'matches' would detach from it.

My hair always looks a mess in the morning! Would a hairbrush help? Nice shot, but a different background would have helped its appeal.

The lighting seems to harsh on the (brush?) If there is any way you can use multiple lights, lamps, etc... I think that would help to give the photo more dimension.

Looks like a hairbrush. The DOF is a little too shallow, it looks like none of the "match heads" are entirely in focus. I'm also not real fond of the orange hue.
