Leo,
Thank you for taking the time to critique this photo, I really appreciate it. My two greatest challenges right now are coming up with ideas and having the time to pursue photography. I ceartainly appreciate the opportunity that DPC offers in inspiring creativity. The feedback, particularly detailed feedback such as yours, is invaluable. Thank you very much for that.
Take care... J |

Hello from critique club :)
Jon, I will be honest as I can be with you. I recognize talent when I see one and you are definitely one of them. Here are the things I like about your work,
1-Ideas
2-Imagination
3-Execution of your imaginations
4-Composition
What else left for you to get ribbons?
1-A better camera (this is a joke, haha), I love 30Ds
I think you need to find better subjects? I don't know. It probably and most likely practice practice practice situation. More photos you take and enter, better you will get, and I tell you one thing, you will get better quicker than others.
For this photo, I think you got 5.0 ( I mean good score) for the fame :\ Don't get me wrong, as I said, close to a perfect image but not too interesting. You also missed a white spot on the middle, should give a bit more angle... DOF is ok, I think I would probably keep the same amount. But frame goes pretty well with the overall photo. I think you got your 0.3 or 0.5 range from the frame. I definitely voted 5 or 6 though.
Keep up the good work; try as much as you can and you will start 6+ s very soon :)

Not exactly a stumper. I like the colors and details. Interesting repetitive pattern. Precisely focused with interesting DOF. |

Graphically this is a nice image. Minamilistic.
A grate of some sort I presume. No idea of what. |

the verticle line being only slightly off unbalances the composition that having it off center helps create, a more diagonal might complete the effect better than trying to keep the grid in justified lines which is really hard when going for DOF blur and only works for direct parallel shots. |

It's welded, therefore it's a kind of grid.
Very aesthetic lighting for metal, great composition and DOF. Not the most interesting shot of this challenge -> 'only' 9 |

A metal grate? I would crop just a bit more off the right. |
