Hi Paul and *Greetings from the Critique Club *
YOu are fortunate to have received quite a few comments during the challenge.
As you know - most of the comments mention they'd like more in focus - but you - the artist, said "you got what you were looking for." So that's easy - the artist wins in every case!
Even with ypur shallow DoF - you may consider cropping out a bit of the left side, thereby placing the in-focus link right in front.
I can envison that link in the bottom left corner and then the chain running is a diagonal line towards the top right.
In any event - keep shooting and sharing - you do nice work.

Thanks everyone for their comments.
The shot was composed with the intention of getting the focus on just one link which I feel was achieved, the background has been there for maybe 50 years and with my current camera could not be "blurred" any more.
Overall I got the shot I was looking for.
thanks again. |

Predictable subject. Could have done some more work with focus, background colour, and colour contrast. A good perspective on an ordinary subject though. |

This is quite appealing. I would prefer the focus to be on the very left most horizontal link and then let the chain fade into oblivion with distance.
A 7. |

Excellent color and texture. If more of this were in focus I'd like it a lot, as it is I feel frustrated by looking at it, wishing it would clear up so I could see this chain. |

only problem I see is that it's a little noisy. i don't see any reason why you couldn't use a lower ISO setting and longer exposure for this one. But you might just have a cheap camera, so I won't take points off for that |

This is a great macro. The perspective kicks a$$. However the green background is just a bit distracting. great. 8 |

I really like this photograph. It has an abstract feeling to it and I like the abuguity of the background. |

Very nice shot, good DOF and the focuspoint is at the right place, a bit grainy though. |

Great subject. Your choice of f stop didn't give you much DoF - try it again with the lens stopped way down. |

Needs a higher DOF. Having the soft focus in the distance is good but I think more of the chain needs to be in focus to pull the effect off. |

One of the more simple compositions, yet one of the better ones. |
