I like the sideways orientation, and the lighting. There's not enough strength in the subject to make this really stand out for me though. Perhaps a more close-up so it's not washed out by the similar-toned sand background.

or you could title it, depression erra..... everthing went up in prices so now the people have abanded anything that has to do with shopping in public.

I like this, but the angle makes the subject seem somewhat confusing. I think it would be more interesting if you rotated it 90 degrees to the right. It would give a feeling that the cart is seeking. then again, we all have different perspectives.

It may just be me, but my head wants to turn to the side, like you took this photo in portrait, but entered it in landscape mode.

It's a good idea, but it doesn't hold a lot of interest. Try not centreing the trolley and see how it goes.
