Painted egg?
The 'planet earth' look is great. In order to give it some shape and increase the contrast, I would have used side-lighting.

Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters (Gen 1:2)... Pretty cool picture!!!
