I'm very picky about selective desaturation images. They can work really well, but it is a technique that I find overused as well (I have overused it many times myself). In this image though, I find it particularly effective, as it draws attention to the leaves nicely. The strong lines of the bench/deck give the shot a nice geometric feel as well. Great photo. |

I've always enjoyed this image - I am partial to a bit of selective desaturation if done well. This is done very well indeed. The coloured leaves are emphasise the contrast between the natural and the man-made. I also like the framing of the image, the way the bench converges on the corner. An under-rated image I think, one of the first challenges I voted in. I gave it a 9.

Very nice lines. I think the foreground could stand to be cropped a bit, to just near where the step meets the edge of the frame. |

Very nice shot. The bench seems incidental, but the overall comp works. |

Subject doesn't make me want to linger but the composition makes the most of it. Strong diagonals rescue the subject somewhat. |

The selective desaturation makes this. |

My kind of shot - great lines and angles and the touch of color from the leaves is excellent. |

That looks like a really time consuming desaturation job |
