very haunting image, i love it! have you tried converting it to b&w with some high contrast adjustment?
is that the copsa mica near sigisoara (or medias?)? i went to brasov, cluj, and a few other cities last summer and noticed a lot of run down factories. i might come back some time to photograph some of them...

ah nevermind i found it on your other homepage...:)

I am curious what a larger depth of field would have looked like, maybe to emphasize the nuclear plant in the background. Wonderful idea, composition.

poignant and out of focus. :)

Your file size is much smaller than it could have been. You may have lost some detail due to JPEG compression. Always use the largest file size you can that is within challenge limits.

Aside from that, this is really good. I'm curious if you found this doll in the field or if it was a setup shot.

Love the photo and the meaning it conveys. The composition is great as well.

However, to me, this dnmc. Where is the "thread"? This seems like nothing is hanging on, everything has already fallen.

Not getting the "hanging by a thread" connection, sorry.

I like this pic, the composition, the colors, the way the eyes seem empty from the shadows (or maybe they are...). To me, it doesn't fit the challenge perfectly, but I think it's a great pic.

that's freaky as hell

This has a really deep meaning and love the grunge of the doll. I think that perhaps, what would have made this a better shot might have been had the doll been a little further back/more fully exposed in the shot. As it stands right now, the stack in the background is blurred (I see where you were going with this though) and between the two objects, there's not quite enough emphasis on the doll (perhaps, more exposure on the doll???) to contrast the blurred stack in the background. It appears as though both objects are equal and one doesn't catch your eye more than the other so it leaves it with the two objects competing and therefore, a flatter image.

creepy, but thought provoking. good colors, but could have left more space at right side.
