Almost very good, but I feel you needed to to have the screw in focus.

The "subject" seems to be out of focus. Overall, I don't find this shot very interesting. Maybe a different perspective, like from a lower angle would add some interest to this shot.

I love it. I could be critical of tocus and glare, but I love the picture exactly as it is.

A 10.

The DOF you chose would have been better utilized if the screw had been in sharper focus. That's the reason for the 3 rating in the technical category. Hope this is helpful.

The focus should have been on the screw. Otherwise, it is poetic.

the screw seems out of focus

Put the DOF on the screw, not the background

Sorry, but I just can't come to like this photo. I think it has a lot to do with the blurriness of the screw. Change that and I think it would have been a great pic.

the screw is out of focus.. i dont know if thats what you were going for...but i would have liked it better with the screw in focus...and maybe closer up would have made a much more interesting photo

The composition is nice, the lighting is nice, the DOF is nice, but the subject is badliy out of focus. That cost quite a few points. This is digital -- shoot unitl it's right!!

Good idea, nice colours and fine compsition. A pity that the main object is so out of focus.

I think you should have focused on the screw rather than the table. but cute :-)
05/06/2004 01:39:24 PM
seems like this one is saying ... "screwed"

Looks like you might have just missed the focus area. Otherwise this would have been a great example of how to do a texture shot and have a point for the eye to focus on (that just so happens to be perfectly placed in the ROT position.) Very good effort.

simple but effective
05/05/2004 06:21:50 PM
You had a good idea in the composition of this--but it's lost in the lack of focus on the sheet metal screw.
05/05/2004 04:20:54 PM
Out of focus screw and overexposed. Flash too harsh, needs a diffuser or bounce.
05/05/2004 07:51:09 AM
Looks like the screw is on the move,? I think this could be very nice with the screw in good sharp focus, good luck

nice dof
