This is definately one of the most elaborate attempts I've made at something DPC will like.

The models are my son Patrick (he been in for me last year, He's Scott's dad!) and ol_possuml's daughter Ana (she was in for me and for her mom as well).

Lighting was interesting. Two Alien Bee 1600s with red/orange color gels lighting our cyc wall. Then one AB 800 with a dark blue gell lighting Ana from above. Another AB800 with a brolly box on Patrick. He's about 20 feet from the cyc wall to make it darker, she's a good bit closer. The flame is real! Balls of T-shirt material wrapped tightly in thread and soaked in lighter fluid (naptha) then set on fire. He could hold them in his palm a second or two, so speed was a bit issue. There is a fan blowing his hair around a little bit as well.

Post Processing as follows:
Convert from raw (added a little exposure for his face)
Rotated (90 degrees clockwise)
Then used the steps listed on this tutorial.
Used idnic's Move the Light technique, to darken the background even more and lighten up both their faces and skin
Resized
Saved for Web

Original :

Originally I wanted a Fire vs Ice type picture... Who gets who's heart when opposits attract. This ended up being the best shot. Though we had lots of funny ones.

Not my favorite fire power that I've seen yet, not sure what the other girl is doing in there, would like it better without her. I do like the background. Wish the fire were more visible.

interesting shot, I would consider this grungy, it probably isn't but that is the impression that i get.

Nice composition, but not sure it really presents super power, I like the different lighting modes you have here, but I think the man's eyes are over processed,
I hope my critique is taken a positive way, all the best.
