This shot may be a little out there and I'm wondering if some people see the same snail I see. So, for anyone interested I'll just tell you what I'm imagining:
The shell part should be obvious on the right 1/3, but then I see the body as the S-curve leaving the scroll and a black "eye" on the left 1/3 line. Sure, my snail has some arms, but in an surreal way, the pegs emulate the antennae of snails. I hope some people saw some fun in this.

It's an ok photo, the subject really doesn't do a whole lot. Since the snail portion is the main subject, get in close with it.

what an interesting title! lighting seems a bit bright, but i love the idea here. i really enjoy the beauty in a scroll

I think a darker toning would have brought out the wood grain a bit more. Try it again with a darker background and a softer light source and see what you think.

Elegant and simple composition, good lighting, probably not a very attractive subject for a free study, but deserves a high score imo.
