 Trolling around on the last day of the month for a free study entry, I came up with this image. Not much of a free study, I'm afraid, but has a certain odd posthumous quality about it.

Shot into the sun and underexposed to try to pull out the fog on the far shore while letting the foreground shore and trees go close to black. Some heavy noise ninja applied, but no other editing apart from that.

I've been working on a vacation photo book this month, so haven't got out to shoot much -- only made it out on three days this month, way below normal for me.

The rich dark here is what is so appealing, for me - and that little glimmer of light on the water, which in another photo might well have been framed as the scene stealer. But the darkness is star here.

I like the scene and that little patch of sunlight reflecting off the water. It looks more cloudy than foggy to me but the mood is of the light just coming through or fading away ... either way a transition from light to dark.
