 Shot a single exposure Raw then made three pics and HDR with Photomatix. Then sharpened in CS3.

Behind me were tons of clouds and at that moment there was a break in the clouds where the sun beamed down on half the mountain.

Really well done landscape! one nitpic... I'd probably remove the stray vegetation sticking into the LH side of the frame.

Very stunning!!!! Love the colors of the dark & moody sky and the the color hues of the rich desert floor. The mountains rise up out of the desert to touch the sky but they also capture our attention. Beautiful capture of this mesmerizing landscape. Well done!

This is one of those WOW shots! I'm always drawn to a sunlit foreground against a dark, moody sky and this is a very good example. I didn't realize this was HDR until I saw you typed it, which is a testimony to your HDR skills.
