Challenge: Rusted (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Canon PowerShot G5
Location: My back yard
Date: May 4, 2004
Aperture: F/3.5
ISO: 50
Shutter: 1/40 sec
Galleries: Still Life
Date Uploaded: May 4, 2004

This was one of the hardest decisions I've ever had concerning a challenge entry... thus far, at least. I'm taking a chance with this, because I know there are going to be people who won't see the rust on the axe. I took some excellent rust shots, but felt they were lacking in style.

Editing: Hue/saturation, curves, sharpening, resizing, border. I don't remember doing anything else to it.

Nothing seems to be fitting in with rust to me... The leaves at the bottom don't seem to work well either.

Excellent composition! Lighting seems a bit cold for my liking though.

The colors are great. The picture is well lit and crisply in focus. The composition is a little forced and regimented. The picture looks like the framing/cropping at the bottom was arbitrary and the blooms to the left of the handle seem disconnected. I also see very little rust, but that is at the bottom of my rubric.

I don't see any rust in this shot, but I like the simple composition and colors.

I don't see rust at all . . . and there is a lack of lighting and composition for me.
