Greetings from the critique club...
The first thing I noticed with this photograph is that there are 3 main subjects. 2 non eaten pretzels, and 1 mostly eaten pretzel. Since this is a "before & after" challenge, most voters are probably looking for a direct comparison. There are 2 differnt approaches that I believe would have made this photograph stronger.
a) Remove one of the non eaten pretzels so that there is a clear comparison between the two remaining pretzels. Cropping in a square format might enhance the comparison even further.
b) If you want to have a sequence, as it appears you have attempted here, show some change between the first two pretzels.
Ex: Pretzel #1 untouched, Pretzel #2 half eaten, Pretzel #3 a few crumbs.
If you need any clarification on any of my comments, please feel free to pm me. It might take some time for me to get back to you. |

Nice idea, but feels a little flat, maybe a different angle would have worked better |

I think if your lighting made the whole surface white, it would look better. I'm not liking the fade to grey on the edges. |

This makes me hungry for pretzels. haha Cute picture and set up. Conveys the challenge well. The crumbs from "the bite" are entertaining; If someone eats one pretzel that messily, what do they look like after a whole bag? :P |

Why are pretzels so tasty and why do they crumble so much?
Simple shot, but very well done. Don't have much to say, and I guess this is just nitpicky, but it feels just a tad off balance to me since it's essentially a "3 pretzel shot" - My eyes want to see the center pretzel in the center of the shot- so it feels a bit unbalanced to me... but once again, that's just nitpicky. Very nice. |
