The Eiffel Tower, photographed from the Tour Montparnasse (210m high).
The tower is illuminated in blue to celebrate the fact that France currently heads the European Union (it even has the European Union stars on its side, but these aren't visible from this vantage point, unfortunately)
This picture makes me think of the Sauron's tower in Mordor, with the searching eye!
The title refers to the fact that the Eiffel Tower is a star attraction (maybe the star attraction) of Paris, but the bright rotating spotlight at the top also creates the effect of a guiding star in this photograph.
Btw: it was damn cold up there. No tripod, but VR and resting against the railing.
Very basic editing was required:
Noise reduction, hot pixel removal, crop, gamma and contrast boost, resize, sharpen, frame. |

| lovely concept interpretation of the challenge - the positioning of the light streaming from the Tower is right on the money - it doesn't scream star to me but this still gets a 6 for quality image |

| Wonderful night shot! I'd love to see this in person. I didn't realize they lit it up in different colours (I've only ever seen pics of the orange/yellow lights). |
