today we went to ferndale,a place i've been about a thousand times, but today decided we were going to walk down the road past the church so we can see if the house in salem's lot was still there (it wasn't, but the movie was filmed here).

we walked for about a half mile, and saw a group of friendly cows. i have never photographed a cow before, and this one was so cute, and such a ham. walked right up to the camera and started posing!

thank you dpchallenge for motivating me to do something new and different :)

I love this shot, though I think I'd love it even more with a slightly greater depth of field, so that the grasses in the foreground would be in focus as well.

the expsure is very good and I can deal with the barbed wire and the grass flowers but not the post..

I think you've got a bit too much sky in the picture. More top cropping would help to balance it and emphasize the cow more.

So cute.

What a sharp and lovely photo!

i like the barbed wire, I don't like the post. I know, you couldn't exactly get in there a pull the cow a couple of feet to the right, but I think the post detracts.

Too bad you had to crop that left ear. Nice colours

Very nice colors! I like the feel of the photo and the angle too. I would probably move to the right a bit to put the post off center a little more though. I might also use a fill flash to light up the cow from your right just a tad. Good job.

I do not like the post in the middle of the picture. There is also a bit of over processing as seen in the green tint under the moos mouth and blue tint over the snoot.

very clever!

top 10 material. What's the pink tint in the sky?

lol...this is too cute. i love the perspective and the bright, cheerful colors. well done!

LOL! This is a great shot of a cow. Looks a bit oversharpened. There also seems to be a purple tint to the image.

Oh, what an appealing image. Wish he had both ears in the shot! Despite that it's a charmer. Like your point of view.

Too funny! And great color, focus and crop! Really good one for me!

clever title -- excellent sky and composition. the fence sets the shot up well as does the touch of green and farm house in the distance.
