 I used this dart for the macro puzzle challenge already.
Fishing lines to position the dart in front of a black paper.
punctured the paper with a needle right where the dart met the paper.
the set up was lighted using one flashlight behind the paper and one flashlight bouncing against a reflective umbrella.
The star came from an 8-star filter for the lens.

Processing:
cloning out the fishing lines
dodging burning
copied background layer in screen mode (35% transparancy)
desaturated the dart top (red)
levels, curves, brightness contrast
Smart sharpen, NI
prep for web (flatten, resize, USM, add border, save for web)

i like the lighting effect - the crisp long lines of the 'star' really makes the shot
