 I was having a conversation on the Shoah (Holocaust) just the other day. When I saw the ‘Stars’ challenge this was the first thing that came to mind. It is pretty dark, and I have no idea how this will do. Honestly I’m not too concerned; I really shot this for myself.

IMO the image looks sloppy. You should have tried to clean up the edges and tried to get the thread to come out all around it. Also adding some contrast would have helped with the flat lighting. NVCO

Daring photo. For me the color of the star, distracts a bit from the prisoners. I'm wondering what this looked like in all B&W or even sepia toned. Interesting take on the challenge, and the photo makes a very strong statement. I gave you a 9.

Obviously the concept is clear and you weren't going for an attractive image, but I don't think the image does the concept justice on any level.

Peace on Earth and goodwill to all men..... We can only hope that this will be so. This picture is a confrontational reminder that it isn't always so, and that sometimes it isn't to a staggering degree. May lessons from the past never be forgotten.
