Day 16 of Whatevers

Meet Tux. Tux and his brother, Albie (a gorgeous flame point Siamese mix) are 10 years old. Apparently their owner fell ill and can no longer care for them, so they find themselves at the shelter. Seperated, because we can't fit two good-sized adult males in one condo. I can only begin to imagine how confusing life is for them right now!

Tux initially was resisting being picked up and carried to the Visiting Room for his photo. Years of experience have taught us to be patient with such a cat ;-) So Tux played peek-a-boo with us through the portal in his condo and I thought this B&W fellow looked great against the stark white of the condo. He did eventually consent to the picking up and carrying operation and after a few minutes taking in this new situation he decided it, and we, were OK. Sweet guy, and his brother is addicted to lapsitting ... I really hope someone can adopt them together.

End of todady's animal shelter story ;-)

PP - converted from RAW, cropped, levels, white balance, dodged eyes and increased saturation a little on green, cloned out screw hole next to the portal door, increased contrast, added border, resized, sharpened with noise reduction.

Poking her head out from the circle that leads into a square white box world! Love the play on shapes that this one has. I also like the bold contrasts you have. The dark black tones of the cat really pop off visually from the white backdrop! Love all the details we can see in this one from the white whiskers to the details of the fur on the cat's head and the sparkle in the eyes.

Oh my gosh!! That is the cutest thing ever! Poor baby being left without his brother!! I know how he feels, mine's brother recently got lost and he meowed all over the house for a week!! I'd take them if I could.

I'm usually not a fan of the cat photos... but this one I like. Perhaps it's b/c it looks like this is a photo of a cat's head mounted on a wall... hahaha... sorry... only joking.

Seriously though, this is an excellent capture. Brilliantly composed, and nice and sharp.

WOW! This is marvelous, I love it! Amazing setup, love all the white. What a great looking cat, love the white whiskers on that black face; awesome expression you captured! I sure hope he and his brother find a good home.

Put some of these photos in your local newspaper, along with the stories. Maybe you could persuade them to have a regular feature.
Our newspaper has a little find-me-a-home segment each Saturday. It is very basic; a photo, and personal stats of the animal, but no story. I am sure you could do it better!
That is a really nice photo. From the thumb I thought he was in a clothesdryer!

Good eye to catch this, the contrast between the kitty and background is just wonderful. This photo has such a nice, clean look to it.

Excellent portrait. He looks very regal and self-assured, despite his initial reluctance to let you pick him up. I, too, really hope someone will adopt them both together. I feel for the owner who must miss them terribly as well.

This is absolutely gorgeous - the composition and processing... Wow!!

However, I'm so sorry for the two cats. Can't imagine how their previous owner must feel, giving up long-term animal friends. So sad. Hope they get a second chance in a good home.

What a great shot! You can see the skepticism on his face...not too sure about these new people. I hope for the best for him & Albie!
