It rained today - not unusual in other parts of the world, but it is here. It rained and rained. I went outside to take photos of droplets (this is not one of those photos).

Here you see a eucalyptus tree that grows next to my balcony. It's very pretty when it's wet.

I did a white feather fractalius on one version. On another version I played with levels and lightened it significantly.

I layered the lightened tree with the fractalius tree in multiply mode (GIMP), and layered another photo of the tree over that in Difference mode - which is basically an inversion.

Saved and reopened in CS3. Used selective color, contrast, lightening on it. Ran it through nik efex bi color filter. Sharpened, smoothed, more contrast - yadda yadda.

Wonderful shot, looks like it could be a print hanging somewhere.

I can't read; I was going through your notes and thought you said "weather fractilius" ;-) Was wondering what that could be LOL!

this is brilliant alicia .. these are the same sort'v trees we have everywhere you look around where i live .. heaps of varieties too .. they can be very unphotogenic especially when compared to some of those beautiful european, english and canadian trees .. cant think of their names .. also japanese when i think of it .... anyhooooooo .. i just love the processing you've done on this .. the gum trees look extremely attractive under your ministrations .!!. :) .. we call them gum trees around here .. probably coz its a lot easier to say .. lol .. !!!..:)
