While the DOF is very narrow and blurs out the foreground and the background nicely, there is little interest beyond the eyes of the butterfly. A different angle to give a more pleasing overall composition would have helped this tremendously. Also, either centering the critter completely or setting it fully to one side or the other is always a better choice than having it slightly off. Your exposure is perfect, btw. As is the sharpness. Butterflyes are always a good idea in challenges, but i think you missed some things in this photo...The colors are not very atractive and the main object (butterfly) is kind of OOF...The bokeh isn't bad but not enough for me, maybe with another perspective it would be great!...Still a good try! Good luck! |
