I set up a perch in the woodshed, out of the wind, but when I went to rehang the newly-thawed feeder in the doorway he moved to this twig until I finished. He didn't stay there long!
Poor things aren't used to windchills of -17, and frozen feeders :(

You hummingbird photos are so good,not only is the bird clear, you capture the neatest settings! I love the way the bird is perched on the weed, it seems like he is posing for you!

I've never seen a hummingbird in real life and here you are with a photo of one in the snow! I've never seen a photo of a hummingbird in the snow. :)

During our recent freeze I clamped a shot light jsut above my feeder. It did double duty keeping the feeder from freezing at night and keeping the Anna's warm. I'd go out at night and always find one sitting on the feeder.

Wonderful shot - but he looks just as cold . .

Couldn't you knit him a tiny sweater and hat ? (you can skip the gloves) (obviously) :- )
