6 days after the full moon and about 1 hour after moonrise. I was going to bed and I saw this beauty hanging in the trees behind my house. So I got dressed and walked down the street to a spot where I had an unobstructed view to get some shots. This was about 20 minutes before midnight. I have never seen the moon in this phase and orientation with my own eyes. I guess I'll need to stay up later from now on! Used my new 1.4x teleconverter on this.

This is why I like crescent moon shot more than full moon. Look at the crater details on the shadow line, a very nice capture!

Beautiful capture, Scott. You're really getting good at shooting moons and this was definitely an unusual moon phase. Good job!
