This is my first submission taken with my new 100mm f/2.8 macro lens. I had to go thru a couple hundred shots to finally get one that I was satisfied with... really fun lens. Tweaked levels, saturation, sharpness, and cloned out some unattractive reflections in PSCS.

Hello from the Critique Club!!

i really really like this idea you came up with here. the placement of the water spout works very well with the image of the lady. the focus you chose to use also works well, it shows the lady for the most part, but leaves a bit of mystery in her softness.

perhaps what this needed was a faster shutter speed to properly capture the water. the lens you are using is great for water drops, i use the same lens. i actually did a photo for the purple challenge of a water drop with the 100mm, but it didn't score so well.

anyways, all in all, i probably would have given this a 6 due to the unique idea and the way you composed the photo. with a sharp water drop, i would have bumped this up to an 8 probably.

This is not a shot that could ever score high on dpchallenge. It's soft and whatever combines falling drops and blurriness will never get an high score here :)
Also, the highlights are blown out, another bane in dpchallenge :)

Conversely, this is the kind of shot that could be easily accepted by a newspaper or a travel magazine, and wouldn't be out of place in a thematic exhibition.
It might be just me, but I feel like it conveys a meaning.
The blur in the drops makes me think of the falling of raindrops on some pottery left outdoors.
I also like the quality of the light. Sure, the flash reflections on the water surface spoils the effect a bit.

To cut it short, I love it, excellent work!

A nice idea, but as a drop shot, it does not seem as clear and crisp as some I have seen. Still better than I could do of it.

this has a bit of mystery and I like the composition and colors.

Very creative capture I really like the sence of stillness of the painting vs the motion in the water

Seems a bit noisy and OOF.

Neat! Great compositon & positioning of the drop.
