 portrait of my 73 year-old aunt Maria Eulália, taken in her house.
somethings you just can't avoid, like your own genes.
since I was a little kid I was told that I resembled my dad and his sister Eulália. as the years go by, I see that the resemblance grows more and more...
at the time I took this picture she was actually worried about her husband who had gone to the doctor. the hand in her head is a sign of actual stress (no fake posing!)
she has a pretty profile (wish my nose was more like hers!). her earing has a little pendant with a milk tooth (I believe it's one of mine). also, that poor haircut was done by me just a week ago.

image processing in Adobe Lightroom (cropped, less saturated, more defined...)
image resizing and saved for web in Adobe Photoshop CS3.

I feel that the focus is on the side of the face instead of around the eyes. The softfocus on the eyes do not feel wrong though, but then it would probably have been better to have a soft focus in the rest of the picture as well.

It's a thought I think we all have some time in our lives - especially as we get older - nice image that reflects the title

nothing stands out to me as differing from the masses.

Moving the focus to the plane of the eye rather than allowing the focus to land on the the plane of the sweater would have been a better choice in my opinion. This is a great close composition made more interesting due to the position of the hand.
