I've always wanted to try taking a headshot of an animal and this was the right challenge for it. I've taken photos of animals before, but they weren't headshots because I couldn't get close to them.

Very nice. I think a different perspective would have worked a bit better, the neck is at a rather odd angle.

Stunning detail and colours, and the focus is perfect. This is an amazing capture, and I think the heavy border works well with the photograph.

a tad too shallow. I think I would have liked the rest of the bird in focus. Nice sharp focus on the top though. very nice.

Very good details of the bird! Everything is in sharp focus. The lighting seems a tad bit bright but not overbearing.

Great details in the features and the beak. Very sharp and good exposure. Good composition too. The lower right corner looks a little odd to me, although not exactly sure why. It looks like it has the green of the background where the body should be, and an odd OOF section of gray. Even so, it's a good bird portrait.

Nice shot, but perhaps a little too tightly cropped on the right side?

Great texture on the beak and around the eyes! It really gives the bird personality.

A wee bit over exposed

You can almost see your reflection in his eye. The background on the right corner almost makes the head look disembodied. How did you do that? Good luck in the challenge. Amazing shot!
