parenthetically titled "who are you calling elderly?"

thats such a pejorative word that I am not certain it really should be used like that.

This is my mom; she's a very young elderly person. Its all mindset really.

Decent portrait. The lighting clearly brings out the textures of her wrinkles -- makes for an interisting photo, but would the subject think its a flattering picture?

Her small smile and kind eyes are very beautiful - my only complaint is that the background could improve by being all light or all dark instead of dark on one side, light on another.

She has such a kindness. I like the use of natural light.

I really like the way you've managed the light. The POV is different - having the subject look up and to her right.Unfortunately the chair and the composition of the rest of the BG detract from this otherwise awesome capture. She looks like a fascinating person to have a conversation with!

Great warm light and expression. Her eyes look warm and kind... reminds me of my Grandma Millie. Given that she's facing to the right, I think I would have framed her a little more to the left, giving more space in front of her body and less at her back, also getting her face off center. Nice portrait. This definitely captures wisdom, warmth and kindness.
