After reading the discussion thread on this image, I thought I'd take a closer look.
I LOVE the men walking off into the distance, in fact I think they add SO much to this shot.
She's alone in her own world - and then there's two, and then there's two - it's absolutely SO COOL!
Didn't notice the leading line until I saw the gif yanko created - FABULOUS!
SO be proud of this, it's done more than just sit in the archives, it's made people 'discuss' art! |

Well, I'm still in a place where I find 5.6 a respectable score. I think it should have scored better, but I'm not surprised that it didn't. That said, I think this shot is more about Asia than perhaps all of the Top 10 combined (with one or two notable exceptions).
I also think (to an extent) that it's silly to talk about distractions in street photography. The people in the background are part of the life of the image, part of the buzz. It's not like they're naked! And the good use of DOF here clearly relegates them to the background. Maybe next time you should huddle all these folks together, bring some lights, tell them what you're up to, maybe have them tidy up a bit (pick up the garbage, dress up a bit), and then tell them all to act natural.
Alright, I'm babbling. Good one. I didn't vote in this challenge, but I'd have scored this high. So blame me in part! |

I gave this a 7 which is more then the score I gave the Blue and Yellow ribbon winners.
I thought it nailed the challenge perfectly it reminded me of a Bangkok backstreet only cleaner. Just looking at this image brings back the aroma of the street food.
Edit: The red ribbon was the best score I gave in this challenge. I was disappointed in the overall standard of the entries and it was one of the lowest scoring challenges given out by me.

I didn't get chance to vote in this challenge, but when I scrolled through a few of the images I figured this was likely yours. It had a certain look that I have come to associate with you. And, of course, I think it should have scored much higher.

Cooking it in the street? There is something about what is going on here that I am not understanding. |

Nice shot. I'm drawn to the men looking at the paper strips, and wonder what that is all about. |

This will be trampled by teapots and sushi and tacky tableware. Pity; it's the most interesting photograph in the challenge. |
