Using ice on the river as a semi-transparent object between the water and myself. This shot was taken along the Waver of which parts were frozen due to the crisp weather we have been having the last couple of days.

I'm afraid this just does not work well for me. Focus is clear and colors are decent, but the composition is plain and does not seem to lead my eye anywhere. That water looks partially frozen. Perhaps a lower perspective, if possible, could have caught some interesting play of light off that semi frozen texture. A different time of day, with the sun lower in the sky would also have played well with the ice.

I applaud you for putting the transparent stuff in between you & the subject in a different way. The banding in the sky is a little distracting.

I don't see any transparency, just reflections.
