 I've been away for a while ... underwent total hip replacement surgery on Dec. 18 and haven't shot that much before or since. Before surgery I was busy clearing off decks at work, and what photo time I had I was using to put together a couple photo books for the holidays. Since surgery I've been rehabbing, and while mobility is better than I had expected it still falls far short of being photo mobile. But I wanted to shoot something for the free study this month at least to complete the year, so here's a macro shot of one of the flowers in a Get Well Soon boquet I got from the people at work.

Shot on a tripod in front of a window with morning light filtering through the drawn curtains. Some lightroom adjustments to exposure, a small clarity bump, but believe it or not no saturation changes or color adjustments other than a small white balance tweak.

Happy New Year everyone ... I look forward to being back and shooting more in 2009 on my new arthritis-free metal hip!

A little brighter and it would be a ten. Otherwise it is wonderful, color, sharp and interesting. Great work.
