I think cropping off the sides to make this more of a square shot would help this shot's composition. Too bad the infant isn't looking toward the camera. |

you're probably going to get a lot of comments that say this is a little too "snapshotty" and i would have to agree. all the stuff in the b/g only serves to distract and it would be much better to have sat the baby up more so that his/her face was more toward that camera.
NOW that being said, these types of shots are precious and to be kept carefully where they cannot be lost. I would assume from the shot this is his great grandchild? I envy that, my grandmother died 5 months before my first child was born. I would have loved my children to know her. enjoy seeing this as much as you can for as long as you can. |

Unfortunately this is not very interesting. There is too much brown, the man is not smiling nor thoughtful, the baby does not show his/her eyes, the pose is not dynamic and too much centered (there are not leading lines to give some movement to the composition). I like the idea, though. Maybe a darker background and a different position of the two (as the man holding the baby with both hands and looking into the baby's eyes) would have helped in making it a more attractive picture. |
