I'm all for seeing a cool shot on DPC and then going and trying to recreate the image yourself to see if you can do it. I've done that plenty of times. It's a great way to try and improve your own shooting by attempting to duplicate a cool shot that inspired you here on DPC. But to then enter that same concept or idea in another version of the same challenge just strikes a bad cord with me.
Please don't take this as some kind of personal attack. It is not. It's just how I feel. Despite my personal feelings, I still scored this image above average. |
Like I said in my PM to you, thanks for the comments. They are appreciated. I just went back and reviewed the old Transparency challenges and I see what you mean. There is no way on God's green Earth would I ever tried to emulate kiwiness. His shot was 10x harder than mine. I had a sleeping baby, he had a psycho! :) |

There is a pane of glass in front of the child and monitor. I guess it's too clean. I'll try harder in the future. |

Great idea. I think that a larger sized picture would have been better though: a bit more close up. Very cute baby :) |

while I think this is an awesome, very unique idea, it does not meet the challenge. |

Lots of shots with this type of crop. Really beautiful subject and execution. |

One of my favorites thus far. I've seen this concept before, but few executed so well. |

I saw this on the last transparency challenge and loved the idea. You did a very nice job, I do wish I could see the icons of your desktop, so I know it is not just cutout laptop frame. |

Very nice shot coupled with a great title to give a very good over all affect
I predict a top 10 finish if not a ribbon here |

Create a photo in which a transparent or semi-transparent object is between you and your subject.
laptops aren't exactly transparent.... cool idea though |
