 I did a lot to this:

WB in Canon Camera RAW
Convert to JPEG
Open in CS3
Adjusted curves to kill some of the red and get the light just the way I wanted it
Lots of spot healing on her face as it was covered in Dorito cheese
Cloned out some stray hairs for a cleaner look
Dodged her eyes a bit
used the blur tool on her skin and the sharpen tool on her eyes
made a VP layer and used the still life filter with some light adjustments and changed to overlay.
used a layer mask for the shirt and eyes
Channel mixer layer set to monochrome and adjusted the brightness, changed blending mode to soft light and reduced opacity till I was satisfied.
Blur everything and masked out the face
Burned around the photo then tweaked the opacity till it was not so noticeable
USM
History brush set back to previous and went over all but her eyes, nose, mouth.
Resize
USM at a MUCH lower setting
Added border via canvas size
Resized again

Congrats on top 100 in a FS, especially a child. It is really wonderful and her eyes are mesmerizing.

She is such an incredibly beautiful little model. This picture intrigues me so much because of it's odd composition. She is leaning almost out of the frame but has such a placid look in her eyes. The composition is a bit unnatural while her face doesn't say anything but pure calm. Awesome shot

A tilt of the head and a gaze to the sky,
a head full of wonder and a dream in her eye.
A smile on her face and one wonders why,
what goes on in the mind of a child?

A shrug very shyly, a toss of the hair,
a kiss on your cheek she will bashfully share.
A hug and a cuddle and a touch full of care,
what a lot for the heart of a child.

The loss of a pet that was her pride and her joy,
a breaking of what was her favorite toy.
Getting in trouble for kissing a boy,
what a weight in the soul of a child.

The learning and growing and laughing and play,
the changes that happen on every foray,
The happy and sad, which one for today?
this is the life of a child.

Nice portrait. I like that you have a brighter half and a darker half and that the two break just along her face.
