Food photography is something I'm not particularly good at (probably as a result of me not being particularly good at artificial lighting) so whenever I see it well done I marvel, and this definitely fits the bill!
Obviously the first thing that strikes me is the nice lighting you have here, it's soft enough to make the shot appealing but there are still some little shadows like the one under the sauce bowl and around the edge of the plate which really add to the composition of the shot.
The only thing about the shot that I'm not 100% sure about is the colour of the noodles, it seems as though it may be a tiny bit off, or perhaps I'm just not cooking mine right :) |

| Nicely shot with good lighting and balance in composition. I'd only like to see a different table top surface being used to add a little more contrasting colors or add warmness. Perhaps a shiny black surface to contrast the plate? |

| If ya didn't know that this was buckwheat? soba, you'd think other things. Seems as if there could be a wee bit more light on the left side of the soba in any case. Nice setup and crop. |

| Something is missing here - I think the main light from behind is upsetting it a little, by casting shadows toward the front. |
