This is the time of year when we get our most beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and I love to go down to the harbor on New Year's Day morning and shoot from the end of the pier. However, when I stuck my head out the door this morning, I was greeted by a good, old-fashioned pea-souper -- visibilty about a hundred feet, if that, probably closer to fifty. Not to worry, I've been dabbling in night photography, and dark plus fog plus a Lensbaby is my idea of Nirvana. Somehow or other, I managed to get a decent sweet spot on this one, but no mysterious figures -- you'll have to settle for that truck at the left. |

I get a real 1950's feel from this, and love the effect of the fog on the lights. I could even see it feeling more sinister with the bright lights on the right cropped out. |

another of your shots with that 'story within' quality Germaine. at first I was going to suggest a crop of the left third but the entire image is growing on me :)

The LB does a very good job in fog! I like how it creates an anticipation. The world waits for the day to begin and you managed to sneak a look at that. |

OH MY GAWD I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. That pop of the vivid turquoise light, whereas the rest of the scene is kind of that night green. WOW - off to the right is like when Dorothy steps out of the house into Munchkinland, going from black and white into a color explosion. This would be an excellent book cover. Totally terrific. |

There are figures..they just haven't entered the frame yet, but I'm sure if we look and wait long enough, they are certain to show themselves. |

Very cool shot, has a noir feel to it. I keep waiting for some mobsters to walk out the door in their fur coats, look to their left and right, light a cigarette and get in the truck.

What? Are you kidding me? I just LOVE mysterious trucks! Know why? Because they imply the presence of an even-more mysterious figure within. Now that's figurative heaven. And LB heaven too. |
