Fantastic, there's a feeling of despair and hopelessness here that makes for a very powerful image. : ) |

a very distant feel that this has...almost like coming out of a drugged haze from a movie scene...a "here I am " or a "focus on me" feel |

Haunting. Has a frightening beauty to it. |

This has such an isolated feeling and bleakness to it. I like the elements of juxtaposed buoy and person. Two forlorn souls. |

I like the pp here...really adds to the image. More appealing and more powerful than the color. Not crazy about the scratches but I adore overlays. |

I do like your ageing here Sarah and the L blur fits in nicely with the process. |

I much prefer this one...so much more enigmatic. |

There's some definitely ambivalent vibe to be had from your lone bather out there - a definite ambivalence? - the way he's standing there, arms hanging straight - he's inscrutable. The LB blur takes us right to him in a rush, and we wonder what comes next. |

I'll agree with the others, this has a somber or disparaging feel. The shadowy figures standing there waiting for the sea to claim him, very emotive. |

I like the processing on this. I kind of get a "shadow people" feeling in this one. Nice work. |

I just love this. It has such an aged nostalgic feel. The balance between the person and boat is great. |

The one with the seagull is lovely, but this one has more "something" to it. WIth just the two, not three - the man and the thingie in the sea - it takes on a whole different feel. Definitely more solitary. Not completely sold on the overlay - perhaps just a tad subtler where it strikes down on the right side. |

Oh but it's not more or less the same at all! The mood is completely different.
The other one's sensual. And someone's with the guy in the other one, waiting smiling on the sand for him to turn and wade back ashore.
This one is despairing; bereft. Nobody is waiting. And he might not be wading back ashore, either.
They're both good, but if I could see only one I'd rather it be this one. |
