Poor cigarette...second fiddle to Twitter...no one respects the cigarette anymore! Great conversion as always.

I really like this! It reminds me of a scene in a suspense movie!

Looks like you've been able to hit the whole range of the grayscale here. I like to soft but still sharp look.

Great composition. I had a first split second reaction that it was strange to place him so far left, but what a cool capture with his shadow in the composition.

You sure have the eye for these candids. It took me a minute to figure out why that shadow works so well. The guy is mostly lighter than the background, while his shadow is dark against a light background.

I'm surprised he stopped in the light. My cell phone display doesn't show up so great in sun. Nice catch!

I like how he's lit against the dark background, then his dark shadow is against the lit background. Nice.

I like the interesting shadow of the man as much as the subject himself. Good shot.

Awesome shot, and your BW application is great.

I can't wait to follow your shots all year.

I need to get that lens...and I need to learn how you do b & w conversion to get those rich tones.
I don't know much about composition yet, still learning, and I know you didn't pose the shot, but would it have made a better photo to have the man facing into the frame rather than out of it?

This is just great, Deb. Love the shadow in the slice of light. Tones and details are all excellent.

This is going to get you out of the house and taking pictures and making contact and all sorts.

Did they really have mobile phones in 1930?

I think you've chosen a very interesting theme for the year, and an ambitious one. I will be looking forward to your uploads every week.

Great start with this one. I am not surprised you chose b/w, and you did a perfect job on the conversion.
