 same thing again pretty much. camera on tripod, remote shutter, used 580exII with homemade diffuser. i want to try out some environmental self portraits next. I have some ideas.

low key works well here - especially with the brights in the glass

Composition: I am digging the placement of the magnifier. It really commands attention.

Lighting/Exposure: You have nice transitions from light to shadow. I like the soft light and the catchlights in the magnifier.

Pose: Perfect for what you are trying to achieve.

Suggestions for Improvements: I can't really think of any.

This is a very clever idea and very well executed.

not sure why, but this shot really intrigues me, i just keep staring at it, not sure what to comment on it about. and good luck with your enviroment shots.
