I was thinking about "Lucky" and was sitting next to my Christmas tree at the time, and suddenly it dawned on me "Lucky Star". I had a clear idea in my head of what I wanted to achieve, but unfortunately as I've only had a camera for 2 months, my skills didn't allow me to achieve what I wanted. Nonetheless, I decided to submit what I have. I was also up against the clock so didn't get much time to edit much beyond a crop. Tripod on order so hand to use higher ISO for handheld. Seeing as it's my first submission, and I'm a complete newbie to D-SLR's, my goal is to not get completely panned, and to get some nice constructive feedback. Be gentle with me :-)

I see where you were trying to go, but I think it's a bad crop, personally. And without a clear focal point, your eyes are drawn left, right off the frame.

Clever idea. However i think it would have been better if the center star was a more pronounced subject. There isn't a clear subject. For me i find that I am distracted by the red tinsel and the ribbon in the foreground.
