 This panorama shot was done using two pictures, taken in succession, and ArcSoft’s Panorama Maker. In Adobe Photoshop CS2 I used color noise reduction, and sharpen edges.More than 300 other shots were also taken atop of Haleakala in Maui that morning. We awoke at 2:00 am to start our trip. It was 56 degrees when we awoke, which happened to be a new low; it was cold enough on top to warrant winter gear. I set my tripod up and begun shooting as soon as we saw signs of the sun. We were told as well as what I had read that this site is one you will never forget. They were right, every moment you were able to capture a different sunrise shot, and it was absolutely breathtaking. My camera was set to Eastern Standard time and Maui is in the Hawaii time zone which was 5 hrs apart.

Almost surreal. Could be an atomic bomb blast. Wonderful shot.

the intensity of sunrises on Haleakala are some of the most amazing sights in the world

the lack of details in the clouds, the lack of ground in the foreground to anchor the shot, and the blown out sunlit area in the upper right take away from the overall effect of the image

P.S. I got your PM. On the good side, i like the yellows and oranges you captured and think it conveys a nice sense of warmth. (still give it a 5)
