For some reason access to the pier was blocked this morning, so I drove over the the parking lot at East Beach. The water in the foreground is Mission Creek Estuary. Anacapa Island is on the horizon.

I was using the Composer with the plastic optic. Wow! What effects!!! That's a plain old flock of seagulls, not an overlay. I don't know how Lensbaby made them transparent.

Colors were heavily tweaked in curves. The "moon" was actually setting behind me. I cut and pasted from another shot.

Excellent - very odd effect, but very interesting! They seem to have auras, each and every one of them.

The green...I love the green.

What a moment - that veritable highway of birds. I see this with a closer crop - meaning chop off a lot of the sky at top - to emphasize the "highway" impact even more.

This does have an overlay look. Very nice dream like image.

Damn, now you told us about the moon it looks like you used the eraser brush at 50% opacity. That said I didn't have a clue until I read your notes so it must be a good job :) I think the solitary person sets the scene off nicely.

Oh, what a wonderful use for Lensbaby. This is delicious. You blended the moon so well that I didn't realize it was pasted until I read your notes. I like the colors. The green and orange is an unusual combination.

Wow is right! I think this is my favorite of yours so far. The gradation of colors in the sky is quite lovely, and the unexpected coloring adds to the mood.

Even though the colors are a little far out, this is a beautiful, ethereal rendering of the scene. Wonderful to stare at well beyond...

just gorgeous. Almost has a feel of Asian Art - the compression/lack of 3d perspective really works. LOVE IT!

Oh GOD....... too fabulous. It has such an "on golden pond" feel. This is truly beautiful.

All seagulls (in fact all birds except chickens) are a little bit transparent G; it's just that ordinary lenses are incapable of seeing it.

I love plastic optics. I have, and wish for, no other.

I have spent many an hour fishing at Anacapa, actually. I probably fed those gulls' great-grandparents :-) This is a trippy effect. I am wishing, based on yours and Ecce's works, that I had the ability to exchange for the plastic optic; my 3G just has the double-glass, so it's the sharpest of the bunch. That's why I keep going OOF deliberately :-)
