Very difficult this one! I learnt a few things here. Spot metering will get it wrong most of the time and other ways of metering are even more useless. So to get detail on these black bodies is very difficult. The movement is incredibel. To get 50 photos in focus, you need to take over 1,000 photos. To freeze the movement of ants you need SS of at least 1/300 sec. Depth of field will be a fraction of a millimeter. I would have liked another day to try and reflect some more light on the scene and try something with amanual focus set-up, but I ran out of time. So here we go - I'll wait to see what the clever people say.

Just did some basic editing. Picture style to portrait, Whit balance to shade, increased brightnes, decreased contrast, sharpened, cropped. Edited highlights on the body.

hate ants. But, considering the size of the subject, you've done very well picking up details and keeping focus.

Nice macro, but I think it would look more impressive if you ran it through Unsharp Mask or something to sharpen it up a bit.

A good macro.... ants are very interesting insects. We don't see many ant macros on here so it's a nice change to a bee, butterfly or a stick insect!

I think this might have been better in black and white because the colours are quite bland, and more focus on the object its moving too.
