 I don't expect this photo to do well. The finished product would be DQ'd so I just submitted this image for the challenge. It's over-exposed due to it being mid day and the sun was coming directly on him.

This is Tom. I was passing by in my car and saw him sitting at an intersection just as you see it. I parked and ran over to snap a few shots before he moved. After taking a few pics, I went over and talked to him.

Tom worked for a painting company for 12 years. Two years ago he decided to make his own buisness. After a year into it, his company was doing well. In less than 6 months he lost everything. Company, Wife, Kids and doesn't have any living family. He currently spends his nights in a local homeless shelter. Tom said he wishes he would have never left to make a better life for him and his family. Not sure why he didn't go back to his old company. I was very greatful for the information he shared with me.

I think a different crop, one not so centered, may have made for a better effect.

there is a lot of details in your picture. on the other side there is nothing really exciting in it to keep the viewer exploring

While I like this take on the challenge, I feel that the subject would be more visually engaging were it not right in the center of the pic. Perhaps some more negative space to make the subject appear more "lonely?"

I like the centered composition. I always think of centered being static and heavy (for lack of better adjectives) and I think that really suits the mood of this image. The black and white conversion is not that well done IMP and the green tones don't work for me. I paused and looked at this one for awhile, which I think speaks louder than the techincal. 7 from me.
